Meet Paige

Hey, I’m Paige!

I’m the owner and therapist behind New Page Art Therapy and Counseling. Welcome, I’m so glad you found us.

My training as an art therapist has primed me to love a good metaphor. New Page isn’t just a play on words, it’s a metaphor for how I view the process of therapy and my role as a therapist.

I believe that therapy is like a book, with each chapter representing a marker of different periods in our life - some full of joy and excitement, others fraught with struggle and sorrow - and my role as the therapist to provide support, skills, and a listening ear as you navigate the current chapter of your story.

At New Page, we believe that you have the ability to turn a new page, to open up a new chapter, and to move forward in your healing in spite of what chapters might come before.

My Approach to Therapy

Collaborative

I believe in the importance of collaboration in the therapy process. l recognize clients as the experts of their own lives but know that sometimes help, tools, or support is needed along the way in order to reach our goals. I strive to provide a warm, empathic, and open presence and value client feedback and dialogue as we navigate working towards your goals.

Integrative

My approach to therapy draws upon a variety of traditional psychological talk-based theories and techniques, including strength-based, person-centered and humanistic approaches, as well as evidenced-based dialectical behavioral (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I don’t practice therapy from a “one-size-fits-all” mentality and will tailor my approaches to fit your unique needs.

Creative

As an art therapist, I believe in the in healing properties of art making and creativity. I will often invite clients to participate in creative self-expression in conjunction with talk therapy approaches, as an additional means of exploring their internal processes, as a tool for promoting mindfulness and emotional regulation, and to provide opportunities for further self-reflection and insight development through examining and exploring their finished art product. Artistic talent and experience are not required – only a willingness and openness to be creative!
